Meera Jasmine has won the prestigious Kerala state awards

Meera Jasmine is on a roll and in a very happy frame of mind. She has won the prestigious Kerala state awards, and her “beautiful relationship” with ‘Mandolin’ Rajesh is being accepted by those close to her. This “Vishu” weekend (April 11 to 14) is crucial for her as two of her big films (Nepali) in Tamil and Inathe Chinthavishayam in Malayalam are releasing simultaneously on Friday, April 11. The highlight of both the films are the smooching scenes with her heroes! In both the films she has lip locked with Mohanlal and Bharath which has made the films hot. V.Z Dorai was the first of her directors to suggest an intimate kissing scene with Bharath for Nepali, she readily agreed as the “story requires it”. A kissing scene, in family director Sathyan Anthikad’s film? “Yes”, because the lead characters are deeply in love and Sathyan wanted the audiences to feel their passion. A beautiful song O, my love.. kiss me.. kiss me… rendered by Vijay Yesudas and Shwetha to the melodious tune of Ilayaraja has been picturised on Mohanlal and Meera in misty Munnar. The screen kiss is one of the most memorable moments in cinema. From the time of the all time Hollywood classic Gone with the wind to the recent Mani Ratnam’sGuru where Madhavan kissed Vidya Balan, the impact a screen kiss leaves on the viewers mind is not about whether the characters will do it, but how? The success of a movie can hinge on the moment when star-crossed lovers or sparring protagonists finally connect with that famous smooch. Meera Jasmine is sure to bounce back to the top in Tamil and Malayalam with that kiss.
