Prabhu is elder brother of Simbhu for cinema. But in real life he has become grandpa!

Prabhu's son Vikram recently married and his wife was pregnant. Yesterday she gave birth to a boy baby in a hospital in Chennai. This news reached Prabhu who was in Pollachi for a shooting of the movie Silambattam in which he acts as brother of Simbhu.

Thoondil is the latest offering of director Adhiyaman and has Shaam, Sandya and Divya in the lead roles. The movie is being produced by M. Rajkumar and S.S.R. Pillainadhan under the Goodwin Movies banner.

Thoondil according to the director is no regular triangle love story. The story has, Shaam and Sandya as married couple, and Divya comes between the two. Why and how will only be answered when the movie is released. The comedy track is said to be quite different. Revathi is said to play an important role in the movie. The movie is shot in London by cameraman Anand Kumar. Music is by Abhishek Ray.

Satrumun Kidaitha Thagaval images

The audio of “Satrumun Kidaitha Thagaval” was released at a glittering function in Chennai on Thursday. Produced by Art Media Technologies and directed by ‘Thakkali‘ Srinivasan, the film is said to be a comedy thriller.



Stuntman Kanal Kannan plays the lead role apart from performing the stunt sequences. Bharathi of “Ammuvagiya Naan” fame plays the heroine. While Kollywood’s forgotten heroine Kausalya has a pivotal role in the film, the comedy track is taken care of by Sethu, who is a familiar mimicry artist of “Kalakkapovadu Yaru (Star Vijay)” fame and Karunaas.

Music is scored by Bala and R. Selvaa is the film’s cameraman.

The movie is produced under Air Media Technologies Pvt. Ltd banner by Bhaskar. The movie is expected to be released by February.

Gautham Menon and Surya joining for the second success

Surya discussing about his upcomming movie Vaaranam Ayiram Surya adds that he will be seen in varied roles in the movie from the character of a College guy to that on a Military person.

This movie directed by Gautham Menon will be more talked about than Khaka Khaka. The movie has a right mix of romance and action.

Art director Rajeevan will erect a mammoth set abroad to shoot one of these songs. The camera by Rathnavelu and Thamarai has penned the lyrics.

The unbelievable speach of Jackie Chan in Dhasavadaram Audio Release

Hollywood action hero Jackie Chan is keen on working with Indian great Kamal Haasan.

Chan, who was in Chennai at the audio release of Haasan's magnum opus Dasavathaaram, said India has been one of his favourite places.

It was nothing less than a dream line-up at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadium with Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Haasan and Mammootty coming together.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was also present on the occasion, which was electrified with the presence of Bollywood heartthrob Mallika Sherawat , 'Dream Girl' Hema Malini, Jayapradha and South Indian actors Asin and Vijay.

Cheering up the audience, who had turned up in large numbers to see their favourite stars, Chan said, "I have seen some scenes of the movie (Dasavathaaram). The acting is excellent. I do not act but do action in the movie".

Dazzle at the audio launch function Dasavadharam

A galaxy of stars will descend on the city this week and is all set to dazzle at the launch function of a film that has been the talk of the town for quite some time now.

The audio launch of Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Dasavatharam to be held on April 25 — organised by Oscar Ravichandran — is touted to be the biggest ever event in South Indian cinema. The invitation for the audio launch, designed like a vinyl, states that it is the ‘meeting of the legends.’ Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi, Hollywood action hero Jackie Chan, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Malayalam megastar Mammootty, Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Hema Malini, Asin , Mallika Sherawat and other Tamil industry stalwarts will be sharing the dais at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Two songs from the film and the trailer will be screened on that day.

Jackie Chan the Hollywood action hero will be in Chennai today (April 24) late evening. Jackie is the star guest at the grand and glitzy audio launch function of Dasavatharam to be held on April 25, Friday evening at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

Oscar Ravichandran the producer of Dasvatharam is planning to hold a red carpet reception for Jackie, who will be flying in to Chennai in a Singapore Airlines chartered flight. He and his entourage are likely to stay at Taj Coromandel, where the most expensive suite has been booked in his name.

Jackie a close buddy of Oscar Ravichandran, who distributed all his English films in India in the late 80’s and 90’s, made a Chan very popular. In 1990, Ravi erected a 100 foot cut-out of Jackie Chan when his Armour of God-2 was released. It was one of the biggest ever hoarding on Mount Road.

Now Jackie who has said in an interview that Ravi “a crazy fan” made him popular in the India due to his aggressive marketing.

Karan’s next flick `Kombu’

Character-artiste-turned hero Karan’s next flick `Kombu’ is a re-make of Malayalam hit Eesra. Kombu is directed by newcomer Prakash and the dialogue is by Jayaram.

Karan has had a string of hits as a solo hero with, Kokki, Karupasamy Kuthagaithaarar and Thee Nagar. Thee Naga was however financially a flop. This is the first film for actress Vindhiya after her marriage. The music is taken by Iman, who hasn’t had a hit after the hugely popular number “Manmadha Rasa...” Besides Vindhiya, Karan also gets to romance with newcomer Neetha. The other actors in the film include OAK Sounder, Riyaz Khan and others.

With Thee Nagar bombed at the box office, Karan is taking extra care for Kombu now.

"Love Story 2050 "a science fiction story

Imagine Priyanka Chopra as a redhead. Actually you don’t need to imagine, you'll soon be seeing her with lustrous red locks in the promos for the sci-fi film Love Story 2050. Or… just look left.

The look is the brainchild of director Harry Baweja, make-up maestro Mickey Contractor and hair stylist Thea.

“It took us six months to zero in on the final look. Basically the brief was to give her something that people could imagine and relate to in the future,” says director Baweja.

Chennai police arrested Actress Asha Saini

Actress Asha Saini, popular for her item number ‘Lux paapa’ in Narashimha Naidu,was arrested on March 11th by the Chennai police following a complaint by the US embassy officials. The actress had gone to the embassy, along with assistant Sri Latha, for her VISA clearance. On finding that some of the documents submitted by the actress were not authentic the VISA officials questioned Asha and her agent, Venkat Reddy, and not receiving relevant information the police were called in. Asha Saini and her assistant were arrested on charges of submitting forged documents.

MGR'S old film title is the title for Kamal Hassan's new film to begin the shooting by March end this year. The film is co-produced by Hollywood's Walt Disney Pictures will be a mega-budget film rivalling the Robot of the director Shankar. A.R.Rahman has given his consent to do music of the film.The story of the film is about the happenings in the seventh century will have actors and actresses who would be suitable for those characters. It has been said, that Madhavan and Kamal's daughter Sruti will be acting in the film. There is an idea to film the major part of the Marma Yogi in Thailand.

Both the films happened at different point of time. While Evano Oruvan was shot way back in 2006, I faced the camera for Vaazhthukal in July 2007. I hadn’t dabbled with my romantic side for long and hence decided to go for it.
